My take on the rimmel apocalips Stellar:
The shade was an instant hit for me. On seeing the online swatches itself, I knew I have to pick this 1. This was sent to me by a sweet friend staying in Kolkata as these aren’t available anywhere else, not even online.
Shade: A difficult shade to describe as one can see hues of coral, pink and orange in it under different lightings. Still I would describe the shade as a vibrant and dazzling coral shade. It is the brightest shade in the collection of 8 shades available and would compliment all skin tones beautifully. The color screams party and is apt for the festive spirits. The shade alone adds the required drama on your face so keep the rest of the makeup subtle.
Texture & pigmentation: The Apocalips is more of a liquid lipstick so it is thicker than a normal gloss but still is totally non-sticky and completely light-weight. It is insanely pigmented and being a super bright shade, one coat is all you need to hide any lip pigmentation. The glossy finish eliminates the need of a separate gloss later. The shade won’t bleed and doesn’t settle in fine lines.
Only problem I find is that the color transfers a lot and can stain your teeth. Take a little care while applying so that the shade doesn’t transfer to your teeth. And I find it a bit drying, can’t do without a lip balm later.
Staying power: Being a super bright shade, it stays easily for 4 hours on me and survives a light meal. Though it transfers to glassware easily, still I don’t see the intensity fading at all. The shade won’t survive a full meal and a touch-up is definitely required. Still 4 hours of solid stay with an hour with the faded tint later means a great staying power.
Packaging: The attractive lip gloss kind of packaging with a great foam applicator is good. The applicator picks a lot of color that is more than enough for a one-time application. If you desire a subdued color, better wipe of the excess color on the mouth of the pack itself before applying. The clear shade marking on the cap makes it quite easy to locate the color.
