Revlon Colorstay 24 Hr Whipped Creme Makeup Review
Sorry to keep you all waiting for this review. I had to try and test it to my level best to judge it better. Anyway, as promised, I am reviewing this newly launched foundation Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup and whether it is really worth all the hype.
What the brand says:
Finally, truly decadent makeup offers ultimate performance. The mousse-like texture feels like silk on your skin. And, the time release formula balances skin for a flawless look. All day flexible wear without flaking, caking or feeling heavy.
Shades: I have already swatched the 3 shades available in India here. I picked up Natural Tan.
-Buildable to full coverage for flawless skin
-Soft, matte finish all day long
-Withstands heat and humidity – great for summer
-Comes in 3 shades in India
Price: Rs.800 for 23.7ml
Packaging: It comes in a sturdy glass tub. A plastic lid provided inside, protects it from spillage. However, it is not really runny so that it would spill. I have kept it upside down as well and it did not spill. It is quite bulky and heavy so it is definitely not travel-friendly. You may however carry some in a small sampling jar for travel ( I always do that).
Using your fingertips or applicator, blend foundation onto skin, starting in the center of your face, forehead, nose and chin blending outward.
Texture: Smooth and silky. The texture is neither too runny nor thick like a mousse, but somewhere between. It feels very lightweight on the skin. It blends easily and gives a natural finish. It gives a matte finish, hence better for combination/oily skin. I would not suggest it to dry skinned beauties. One definitely needs a moisturizer before applying this foundation.
Fragrance: It does not have any strong fragrance. We all prefer foundations without that horrible chemical smell, isn’t it? This is just perfect.
Staying power: I tested it for 12 hours on my combination skin. After 8 hours, just the nose needed some powder. The other areas remained fresh whole day. It would be the best foundation for working women.
Coverage: I would say it gives medium coverage. However, it can be doubled up as a concealer on scars.
I am a big fan of low to medium coverage foundations for everyday as they give a more natural look.
Photographs well? I chose the shade Natural Tan. It is a little dark on me but I love how natural it looks on me. I hate foundations that make me look me brighter or fairer. It has yellow tones that I always crave for in my foundations. It does not give any whitish cast and photographs very well. So make sure you choose the right shade that matches your undertones. Iam MAC NC42.
1. Light weight
2. Blends easily
3. Little amount is sufficient
4. Gives a neat matte finish
5. Staying power is just fantastic
1. Bulky packaging. I anyday prefer a foundation in a tube or a pump bottle.
2. Only 3 shades are available in India
Iam wearing this foundation in the below picture…
Final Words: I recommend this foundation for combination/oily skinned girls looking for a long wearing, natural looking foundation. It is a big No-no for dry skin. I can see myself using this more in the summer. It is a complete winner for me as I have combination skin. Just the packaging could have been better.
