Description: The deepest black Kajal, creates bold lines & is smudge free for up to 12 hours
My take on the new Maybelline Colossal kajal (12-stay):
Packaging: The kajal comes in the same yellow plastic pack as before with a twist-up mechanism and a plastic cap on top. The twist-up method is good at the job and it’s easy to twist back the kajal in after use.
The colossal kajal is very smooth in application and goes on the waterline without any tugging. It is quite pigmented and a single stroke is enough to get the blackest black color on the lids. On the waterline, I prefer swiping it twice to get the desired pigmentation. Its sets pretty quickly so if you want to get a proper smudged effect, be quick else rubbing it won’t give you the result you want. Once set, the kajal hardly fades or smudges and stay put for quite long. Even splashing water a couple of times won’t fade the color till you mistakenly rub it. This would cause the kajal to smudge and fade a bit.
Staying power: On my lids, the kajal stays on for practically the whole day till the time you yourself remove it using a cleanser or remover. On my waterline, I can still see a hint of the kohl even after 7 hours though it does fade. I can’t see the 12-hour claim fulfilled, but yes, the kajal does provide a 7-8 hour stay on the waterline for sure which is commendable.
- Blackest black color
- Intense pigementation.
- Hardly fades/smudges once set
- Efficient packaging
- Stays on for practically the whole days on the lids.
- Gives a staying power of 7 hours easily on the waterline too.
- Reasonably priced.
- 12-hour claim not fully met.
- Rest I find no problem with the kajal as such.
