What it claims:
Shades: It comes in 2 shades -002 Radiance ( For fair skin) and 004 Fawn ( for dark skin)
Price: Rs.250 each
Packaging: This cream comes in a stick form and it is twistable. It definitely looks cute and travel friendly. Also easy for touch ups.
The quantity is good and would definitely last long as it is quite pigmented and you need very little. It also contains SPF 21 which is again a plus point.
How to use: I do not use it directly on my face as suggested but use it with my fingers. The reason is that the oil on the skin would come in direct contact with the tube and can change the texture of the cream. The texture is smooth and satiny so I blend with my fingers and it instantly dries to a powder finish. It gives a demi-matte finish to the skin but I also apply a translucent powder on top to prevent the nose from getting oily after a few hours.
As you can see from the above picture, there are only two shades. The Radiance shade works fine if you are upto NC 37 in MAC and Fawn would be ok for NC45 and above. I am NC42 , medium skintone and I had to mix both and use which is quite difficult when it comes in a stick form. However, the Fawn shade makes a fantastic orrange corrector/concealer for the under eyes and also evens out the darkness on the eyelids. For the face, here and there, I do use Radiance and blend it out evenly. This way, it works fine. But double investment here is what bothers me.
In the above picture, both the tubes have been twisted inside but you can still some part of the stick. You need to be careful when you place the cap as the cream sticks to the sides of the cap if you are not careful.
As you can see, Radiance is ashy on my skin and Fawn is way too brown. The coverage is medium. It covers mild dark circles but not scars or pigmentation. It beautifully evens out the skin and makes a fantastic base for oily skin. It contains salicylic acid so it does provide oil control. It has not broken me out. It keeps the face fresh for about 4-5 hours.
Rating: 4.25/5 ( For the shade range and medium coverage)
Final Words: The BB Stick is a unique product from Maybelline. Worth a try if you find the right shade. With just 2 shades, most of us Indians would have a tough time. It does provide oil control and covers pores, light pigmentation. It gives demi-matte finish so you would need to powder your face. It helps in quick, light makeup
