So the entire beauty blogosphere has been going ooh and aah about this cute lil pink sponge. I bought one for myself a year ago and I must say, it has made makeup application the most easiest task ever.
Beauty Blender Review
What is a Beauty Blender?
The world’s first edgeless, non-disposable, high-definition cosmetic sponge applicator. The unique shape and exclusive material available only with beautyblender® ensures impeccable, streak-free application with minimum product waste. Use it with primers, foundations, powders, cream blushes, and any other complexion product.
beautyblender® features an open cell structure that fills with small amounts of water when wet. This allows the sponge to be “full” so that the makeup product sits on top of the sponge rather than being absorbed, allowing you to use less product every time. When wet, beautyblender® doubles in size and becomes even softer, returning to its original size when it air dries.
How To Use:
beautyblender® is easy to use: simply wet.squeeze.bounce. your way to makeup perfection!
- wet. beautyblender® with water
- squeeze. out the excess liquid, using a towel if available
- bounce.primer, foundation, powder, cream blush or any other complexion product across the face for flawless results.
At first, I laughed at myself for shelling out more than a grand on this tiny pink egg shaped sponge. I had my set of trials and errors and eventually learnt to use it the correct way as advised.
I take my foundation, be it cream or liquid and dot in on my face, then damp the sponge in water until it enlarges. I dab the sponge on my face in bouncy motion and it blends the base makeup quickly and evens out the face giving an airbrushed finish. It is wash-able and re-usable. A separate cleanser is sold for the beauty blender, however I have been using a baby shampoo and it works fine. I love to use it to blend my concealer under the eyes. The pointed portion goes easily under the eyes and the sides of the nose to take away the excess and blends to give a flawless look.
Repurchase material? Yes for sure, but I think one is enough for personal use. I have used mine for a year and it still looks new. Be sure to wash regularly and keep it clean.
Verdict: This lil fella rocks!
BTW I have found a cheaper dupe that does a fantastic job. Comparison post coming up soon.
