Makeup Workshop By Akriti Sachdev Of Mesmereyes Makeup
Hola Beautiful Ladies,
I am here to share a super fun post today. As I pen this article down, my heart is beating really fast because of all the excitement. I never got the opportunity to take up a makeup course in Mumbai due to personal reasons so I was on the hunt for a nice makeup course or a workshop by a professional makeup artist. I stumbled upon Mesmereyes Makeup Page through my friends who kept raving about Akriti Sachdev. I soon got addicted to her page and of course the excellent youtube videos and everytime I tried to enroll for her workshop, the seats got sold out. I feel I have a last minute luck ( so many instances in the past ) so I grabbed the last ticket this time as a girl backed off. ( Thank you girlie, whoever you are).
About Akriti Sachdev
Akriti Sachdev is one of the best Bridal makeup artists in Chennai. She is a very famous Vlogger and conducts makeup workshops for beginners in Chennai. Though I am not a beginner in makeup, I really wanted to master eyemakeup, contouring skills etc and I knew she was the right person.
Akriti says she had no interest in makeup until one day when her friends took her to MAC in Manchester where she was doing her International business course, she was surprised by the look the makeup artists gave her. She got inspired and started practicing makeup. She also took up a course from Vidya Tikari in Delhi and kept focusing on youtube videos. She was invited by BeBeautiful.in to do videos for them. She has also given training to ‘n’ number of makeup artists from different brands like Lakme. She worked for MAC Cosmetics as a makeup artist and also took up a course with celebrity makeup artist Cory Walia in Mumbai.
About The Workshop:
Now coming to the workshop, she covers everything from basic skincare to makeup tricks and techniques. It is a 2 day workshop ( 3 hours each day) and most of our time went away chatting. But she still managed to keep us engrossed and taught us everything that she could. Though, in 2 days, you cannot be a master but it is a great workshop for beginners. She is as generous as can be. She tries to clear every doubt and gives personal attention. There are 6 students in a batch and our batch was full of makeupholics and hoarders. Akriti was shocked by the way we suggested her products. She charges Rs. 5000 for a 2 day workshop and I feel it’s totally worth it. Though you cannot learn everything in 2 days, it is a great opportunity for a beginner.
The beauty blogger in me made me ask her so many questions and trust me, she is the most patient makeup artist I have ever come across. She helped me get the perfect winged eyeliner and also suggested eyemakeup tips for my big rounded eyes. She did not hesitate to take makeup or beauty tips from us and let us share our own ideas as well which is a fantastic thing. She also gave us all this new notepad which looks funky and cool. In fact, I did not want to use it at all. It’s just too cute.
The workshop includes coffee/tea and snacks. You need to bring your own kajal and mascara for hygienic reasons. The products she gives you for the workshop includes various brands like Coastal scents, Miss claire, MAC, Inglot and all are of high quality. Each student is provided with a set of makeup brushes for the class and she describes how each brush should be cleaned and used. She made me realize that makeup is not about using expensive products or tools but just the right technique.
I have personally requested her to conduct an advanced makeup course or a course only for eyemakeup and she says she is working on it. If you girls are in Chennai or visiting Chennai, do attend her workshop. I really miss not getting my bridal makeup done by her as she is truly fabulous.
Girls who are getting hitched, pre-book her now itself. She is THAT good. She charges Rs. 18,500 per session for Bridal makeup, hair and sari draping which is quite reasonable compared to the others in Chennai. She used MAC, Inglot, Bobbi Brown and other high end products for Bridal Makeup. She specializes in Airbrush makeup.
