Product Description: All our beautiful palettes come with 12 complimentary shades so you can pick and choose for a variety of looks. They’re a soft, blendable texture that glides on with ease. At just £4, you basically need them all…
Don’t be afraid by the name of this palette – it merely describes how sparkly the shades are! They’re glittery but they’re not completely full of glitter so they won’t fall down your face or cheeks when wearing. There’s an assortment of colours from blues and blacks to purples and pinks. This palette can be worn softly in the day time but also built up for effect in the night. Karla Powell Head of Makeup Artistry recommends using it with the Poptastic palette aswell for a punch of colour! By mixing the two you’ll create the best wearable look with a pop of colour too.
Price: 4£. I got it for 750 INR from a friend.
My take on the MUA Glitterball Palette:
I love the Brand MUA, Makeup Academy, for the diversity of products they offer at such cheap prices. But yes, the brand’s cosmetics are not available in India and one can order them online now through their website and the shipping charges are also nominal if you are making a bulk purchase. I am sure I am going to place an order soon ;).
Don’t just go by the name. This palette is a mix of glittery and shimmery/metallic colors. The metallic ones are better pigmented and easy to work with than the glittery ones. But this palette is a nice blend of light and dark shades which help you to achieve both day and night looks easily. There are some unique shades like #2, 7 and 9.
Coming to the individual shades, let me start row wise left to right.
First row includes:
Black shade with silver shimmers. Is decently pigmented.
Light peach color. A one of its kind shade but less pigmented.
Emerald Green color. Nicely pigmented without much noticeable glitters in it but a lovely color to work with.
This is more of an aqua blue shade and contains glitters. It reminds me of beaches and water ;).
Again a glittery teal color and one of my favourites.
Glittery silver. I use it for highlighting and it serves the purpose just right.
The 4, 5 & 6 shades have more glitters so more effort is required to blend the shades. I try to build up the color with them rather using a heavy hand in one go.
Row 2: I think this row is better pigmented than the former.
Glittery pink. A wonderful color to add fun in your makeup. I love such bright pinks as we don’t generally get to see such colors in other palettes.
Golden full of glitters again. You can even call it a golden bronze. A perfect color to use in this festive season. Again a little difficult to blend it because of the glitter content though it is quite pigmented.
This is my ultimate favourite. It is a shimmery taupe shade which is pigmented, easy to apply and blend and looks beautiful alone itself. This is officially my first taupe e/s and I love it ;).
A shimmery dark brown shade. Probably the most pigmented in the whole palette. Again a nice shade to add color to your eyes on its own.
A gunmetal silver shimmery shade. Nicely pigmented and easy to work with.
A shimmery mauve. Beautiful and pigmented.
All in all, this is a fun palette and would serve the purpose just right if you are travelling and you need a nice mix of shades for any kind of look. But all the shades do have shimmers so if you are a matte lover then this palette is not for you.
The shades do have a little fallout in the sense that the glitters tend to fly away a bit so one needs to check on that. The pigmentation of the eye shadow palette range from fair to good.
Final Verdict: A bright and bold palette with a few neutral shades too that should help you to create plenty of looks. I’m sure I am going to carry it with me during my next trips as one palette gives me a diversity of colors. I highly recommend it all eye makeup lovers who like to try some unique and pretty shades.
