Today I will be reviewing a pressed powder from Mac’s permanent makeup line. I bought it last year and since then I am using it regularly daily. Yes, since last year. It was recommended by one of my friend because she knew I have oily skin and I suffer from oily face during summer. So, let’s move to the review.
Formulated to provide a smooth, virtually invisible, fresh-looking finish, this soft, cream-like powder is carefully blended to provide the skin with extra care, nourishment and comfort.
Price: Rs. 1500 for 10 gm
Shade: Medium Dark (8 shades are available)
My Experience with Mac Studio Careblend Pressed Powder:
The pressed powder comes in a very nice, sassy-looking, black, Mac’s traditional packing. The shade details are written on the back of the compact box. It comes with puff applicator, though I use it only for touch-ups because I prefer using powder brush to apply pressed powder. It also comes with mirror and all this makes it convenient while travelling. The puff is quite soft and it picks up right amount of product, so it’s easy to work with it. I wish that it came with couple of spare applicators considering the huge price tag but nevertheless, you can’t get everything. There are 8 shades available, four for lighter skin tones and four for darker skin tones. I think everyone will find their shade easily like I found mine.
Texture: The texture of the pressed powder is very smooth and it’s very creamy. It’s lightweight and feels comfortable on skin. It blends into my skin like a magic because of the smooth texture and the shade matches my skin-tone so perfectly. It’s so light that it’s there but you’ll feel that it’s not there (you know what I mean?). You can also purchase the darker shade from this range and use it as bronzer. It doesn’t look cakey or powdery, other people cannot guess that you have applied something on face. It gives a lovely natural finish to skin that looks like your second skin.
Finish and coverage: The finish it gives is matte without making face look too powdery. Even though the finish is matte, it doesn’t accentuate my dry spots on face. The coverage is medium and it evens out skin flawlessly. It doesn’t look cakey as the powder is finely milled. It also hides pores wonderfully without oxidizing even in summers. It sets makeup for 4-5 hours even during these humid days in days which I think is a great job. It also controls oiliness on t-zone which is much needed. Since the coverage is medium, I wear it on bare skin daily and on special occasions I top it up over foundations. It works wonderfully as setting powder and I get many compliments when I wear it. It also photograph well which is a plus point as everyone love getting clicked ;).
All in all, I love this pressed powder from Mac a lot. The price is high but I am using mine from the last 1 year and there is still remaining product. It’s crazy because it’s only 10gm product but it last longer which makes it cost-effective. Overall, I absolutely love it and highly recommend to all.
Summing up the pros and cons:

Will I Recommend Mac Studio Careblend Pressed Powder?
If you’re looking for a compact powder that offers you some amount of coverage so that you can wear it on bare skin then this is for you. When topped with foundation, it sets makeup for 4-5 hours which is just perfect. It hides pores, gives matte finish, photographs well and looks like your second skin. The price is on higher side but it will last long, I am using mine from the last 1 year and it is still remaining.
