Yes, I am finally writing about my first MAC blush. Yipee. I may sound super excited to you but then you have judged it right, I am excited and super happy to write a review about “her Blooming cheek” for you all.
Again, before beginning, I need to tell you all that I bought the blush from Preetha herself, as buying MAC is a problem for me just because of the distance. But now, I am not going to trouble Preetha more as MAC has opened an outlet at Inorbit – Hyderabad, a place which I visit often ;). I can imagine a big smile on Pree’s face on reading this :P.
Price: 1150 INR (It is a LE shade)
My views on MAC blush:
I love the name – “Her blooming cheek”, totally apt for this beautiful, bright and bold shade of the blush. It actually makes your cheeks bloom with the nice flush of pink.
Shade: The blush though looks quite intense in the pan leaves a pretty pink color on the cheeks. The shade is a satin finish blue based bright Fuchsia color. It is a vivid reddish or pinkish purple color with almost a no shimmer finish. The shade would be universally flattering and I am sure it would look lovely on dark skinned beauties well. For lighter skin tone, one needs to apply it with quite a light hand to achieve desired result.
Texture: The blush is insanely pigmented. You touch it and you get a vivid color on the brush. The texture is smooth which makes application and blending much easy a task. The blush is almost matte but being from the satin finish, you can see minute shimmer on very close application alone. As the shade is highly pigmented so better apply lightly first and build up the color in further application.
Staying power: I applied the blush in the afternoon and even after 5 hours without a proper base underneath, it stayed as fresh as new. So it stays on till you yourself remove it. Fading is little and is quite even.
Packaging: The blush comes in the standard Mac black sturdy plastic case with a see through lid. No mirror or brush provided.
Gorgeous deep fuchsia pink shade.
Great staying power.
Sturdy and travel friendly packaging.
Smooth texture which is easy to apply and blend.
Universally flattering shade.
Versatile shade. Try using this as an eye shadow too (saw another blogger doing it so I am definitely trying it out 😉 )
Limited Edition blush
Price may pinch few but it is going to last a really long time.
Easy to go overboard with the shade so apply and build gradually.
Final Verdict: I love this and so would many of you who love bold and bright blushes. I know I am going to use it a lot for the coming family function and elsewhere too. Being my Mac’s first blush, it is already so valued to me and further the lovely pink (mixed with a little reddish) flush it leaves on my cheeks makes it all the more appealing.
Hope you liked the review and enjoy the pictures of myself wearing the blush under different lightings.
