MAC describes Party Line as “Red-toned Plum”
Price: 990 INR for 3g
My take on Party Line:
A new addition to my small MAC collection is the shade Party Line from the Cremesheen finish. This finish is believed to be creamy and full-coverage and more hydrating.
Shade: It’s a gorgeous berry-pink-red that leans more heavily towards the red/pink side. Mac describes it as a red toned plum but I find it as a cross between plum and red but very wearable. Its dark, it’s bright and not gothic at all. It’s one of the favourite red lipsticks for fall and undoubtedly would suit all skin tones.
Texture: Party Line is bold, creamy and hydrating. It applies easily and smoothly. The pigmentation is quite good unlike of a cremesheen. A couple of swipes are what is required for a good coverage. The creamy texture of the lipstick allows it to bleed a bit so a lip liner is necessary for a proper application. It does transfer initially.
Staying power: The lipstick stays on for around 3-4 hours on me with a meal in between. I don’t find a need of touch up after a meal even as the stain left behind looks pretty nice on its own.
Packaging: Usual black metallic encase with a sturdy bullet inside.
Pretty flattering color.
Hydrating to most extent.
Decent staying power.
Survives a full meal.
Creamy texture lets the lipstick to bleed a bit so a lip liner is necessary.
Final Verdict: A very wearable plumy red for the fall. For me, this is 1 shade which I would always want to have in my kitty. A pretty red for people who are scared of wearing bold red lipsticks.
