This is my first ever review in IBJ , and I am so excited. I really want to thank Preetha who gave me this opportunity to write for IBJ and to make this post more memorable I decided to review my current favorite lipstick and it is none other than from MAC retro collection in Relentlessly Red. Okay the name gives you the idea of the shade but trust me it is different shade than the usual “red” one. Why? To know kindly read on….
Price: – Rs.990/-
Shelf-life: – 3 years from the date of manufacturing.
A little info about this retro matte collection:-
MAC retro matte collection is inspired from the formula of “ruby woo” the queen of Mac lipstick. It comes in 8 different shades along with Ruby woo. Among these 7 shades that are newly launched I pick up the shade Relentlessly Red. Although in my city these collection got sold out after few hours of launching but with the help of a friend I grab it from other city.
Coming to the packaging there is nothing special in it. It comes in usual black case with the name Mac printed on the bullet.
The shade is a nice “pinkish red with a hint of coral in it” which I think is just perfect for fall season. The lipstick being matte in texture which I think is just ideal for “matte lipstick lover” like me. As it is inspired from ruby woo texture so one might found this lipstick really very dry so it tend to tug or pull your lips while applying the lipstick which is little irritating true but if proper exfoliation of lips and application of lip balm is done then this dryness cause by this lipstick can be avoided.. Next coming to the pigmentation the lipstick is highly pigmented and provide excellent color payoff. The lipstick stays pretty long time on me nearly 6hours and when fades leave a nice pinkish stain on my lips. The most nice part of this lipstick is it is non-transferable during drinking coffee or tea.
Okay so my likes and dislike in point wise for those who are in hurry
Have variety of shades.
Perfect for fall.
Excellent color payoff.
Stays near about 6hours without fading.
The formula is drying for which it might not for those who don’t love matte or have really dry lips.
The lipstick tends to tug your lips while applying.
Availability might be a problem as Mac although decided to make it permanent but still it is oos in many city as it might take few more month to add it on permanent line….as told by the SA girl of MAC.
Ratings: – 4/5
Verdict: – The shade is beautiful and so the pigmentation so if you are lucky enough to get your hands on it want then you must grab it to add more drama in your look.
