The L’oreal infallible range comprises of Foundation, Concealer, eyeshadows and Lipsticks.
Today’s review is on the base product which is l’oreal Paris infallible foundation which claims to fight the signs of make-up meltdown and provide all day radiance for upto 16 hours.
The description on it has really tall claims, read on to find whether the claims stand true or not.
What Website says about it:
Infallible Liquid Foundation perfectly evens complexion and provides flawless coverage for up to 18 hours. The Infallible range comprises of 12 unique shades.
Long-wear formula that now lasts for up to 18 hours. Infallible foundation contains the L’Oréal Paris Laboratories’ scientific innovation Co-Resistium Technology: a highly resistant and extremely stable network of pigments, which remain in cohesion with the skin, for a uniform colour and good hold during the day. Complexion is even and looks perfect for up to 18 hours!
Infallible also contains vitamins and minerals to help combat the signs of fatigue and is oil-free and fragrance-free.
Price: 1195/- for 30ml
The product is available in around 8 shades at the counter (whereas website claims 12 shades).
The shade I have got is the lightest in the lot which is 120-vanilla. In the store lights it seemed exactly matching to my skin color but when I came home I realized it’s a bit light for my skin tone but on application it does not look that it’s lighter as it adapts well to my skin color.
Not mentioned anywhere.
The foundation comes in a transparent glass bottle with a red pump dispenser. I find the packaging quite chic as the red color of the pump in contrast with the foundation shade makes a good combination and the bottle looks cute.
The bottle is thick glassed so I think it can survive a fall. The pump is also good and dispenses sufficient product hence no wastage.
Texture & Coverage:
The texture of the foundation is a bit on the thicker side thus some effort is required to blend it into the skin. but when applied it feels very light and natural on the skin. I have tried applying it with fingers, foundation brush and sponge and I think the foundation brush applies it the best.
The foundation gives medium to full coverage, so girls with minor skin flaws can skip a concealer when using this but I still need a concealer to cover my under eye dark circles. But for rest of the face I don’t need anything else. When used alone It does not cover the pores near my nose so I have to use a primer underneath.
Also it’s not moisturizing on its own and when applied over bare skin, it gives problem in blending and also enhances the dry areas of skin but works well on moisturized/primed skin.
So yes, the claims of providing even coverage and all day radiance are true.
Finish I suppose it neither dewy not extremely matte, it’s somewhere in between like semi-matte. Immediately upon application I don’t like the finish as it looks a bit more matte but till the time I complete rest of my make-up it adapts well to my skin and looks natural and not at all made up. It also photographs quite well.
I cannot say whether the 16 hour claim is true or not as I have never worn it that long. I have worn it maximum for 6-7 hours in hot Delhi summers and during that time it did not melt at all and was absolutely intact with just some shine on my oily t-zone. So yes, this is definitely a long wearing foundation J which stands true to its claim of preventing make-up meltdown and lasting long.
Summing it up,
What I like about L’oreal Paris Infallible Make-up Lasting Perfecting Foundation:
- Definitely a long wearing foundation.
- Gives a non-drying semi matte finish.
- Provides medium to full coverage.
- Looks very natural on skin.
- Photographs well.
- Nice range of shades.
- Has SPF also.
- Chic and nice packaging.
- Has huge quantity and would easily last for 2 years.
- Pump dispenser works well.
What I don’t like about L’oreal Paris Infallible Make-up Lasting Perfecting Foundation:
- Is quite expensive.
- Does not cover pores.
- Not moisturizing on its own.
I think all in all it’s a good party wear foundation which stands true to its claims and provides full coverage and lasts long even in humid Delhi summers. It would suit oily/combination skin girls better but Dry skin girls can also try though they need to moisturize well before using it.
