Look stylish post-delivery

By Chandrana

With the arrival of a baby into the family, usually the priority shifts towards the new born. Everything else takes the back seat. So, is the most craved attitude of being a stylish mom gets the least importance. For a new mom, the daily routine goes on a toss. Managing the style quotient/taste just gets deleted from her dictionary.
But, I feel, you will be at a great loss if you do not give importance to your taste of style. Being stylish and maintaining your style is as important as taking care of your baby. It boosts confidence.

Here are some thoughts I feel I should share from my post delivery experiences.
Skin care: Skin takes lot of toll in being healthy. I experienced dull life-less skin post delivery. Skin care routine/regime should never leave its time table. Inspite of unexpected baby schedule, the skin care schedule should be kept intact. The massaging of face should get the most importance; since massaging gives enough food to the skin and brings back its glowing life. I did my own massaging every night before sleeping and went out for a professional facial massage every weekend.
Scrubbing too is very important. Whole body scrubbing gives a lot of relief to the sleep deprived body.
Make up:  Make up and color cosmetics mostly has no place in the everyday life of a new mother. Simple reason is ‘baby takes all the time’. Yes this is true to certain extent. The concealers, flawless foundation application, highlighting bronzers, expert wear of eye shadows all takes the least priority. But some one who has been living with colors, will never have a satisfactory life without makeup; even if there is a new born baby in arms.
Of course, some sort of adjustments can be done. I found a way to keep color with me inspite of an all time attention craving baby. A lip gloss, colored eye pencils, eyeliner, kajal, moisturizer and compact case were only my companions post delivery. All these items can be used in a jiffy without wanting much time. A lip gloss is much easier to be used than lip stick. No much precision is needed near the cupid’s bow part of the lips while using a lip gloss. So, a pigmented lipgloss with much coverage comes to a lot of help. Couple of swipes of colored eye pencil on the eye lid and eyeliner over it used to be my usual eye make up. This way I showed I have not deleted colors from my routine.

Hair style: I had developed a craze for loose hair pre delivery. Loose hair is not a good choice of hair style when you have the job of handling your new-born. And, letting the hair loose over the shoulder is not the only best hair style. I had to shift to new differnet hair style. I went on with high pony usually. I experimented with a couple of possible hair cuts too. All were such that my hair did not ask for much maintainence, except for shower and washing. But some how, my hair style did not satisfy me throughout. I am all ears to hear if there was any thing specific that you did to your hair as a new mom.
Dress your self post delivery too: Now, at this point of time, not a single dress you own previously will come handy since your body structure has changed. Don’t use the clothes you bought during your carrying phase. They are made for expecting mothers and not for new mothers.
And please don’t stick to sarees considering the ease of feeding your baby. I was advised to wear saree most of the time, because it is just so easy to breast feed. But out there, you will find so many things for new mothers. There are amazing post-partum stylish wears. Do not hesitate to buy again. Buy that suits you and your taste. Also consider the fact that you have to handle your baby and baby routines.

Dress up your bundle of joy: Selecting the most attractive and stylish baby dresses is one of the important way to show that you are a stylish mom. . Haven’t you observed the big topic of dressing up the celebrity kids and the kids themselves being a celebrity! Your baby is a celebrity too. All eyes are on your baby. So build up a wardrobe for your new-born. No compromising in this matter. Your baby too should look stylish and smart. Only then there will be complete justice done to your style statements.
Baby Accessories: Yes, baby accessories take so much of place in a baby’s life. The feeding bottle pouches, the napkins, the travel size wet towels/wet tissues, diaper pouches, everything goes along with the baby. All the pouches and the cover-cases are a must buy. They make you and your baby look neat and organized. Don’t go for boring pieces. Shell out  a little extra penny and go for the cute ones. It looks so damn interesting. Not just the accessories, the whole carry bag that carries all these baby stuffs also should be chosen carefully. Be very choosy in selecting a stylish bag which suffices the need too.

I hope I have shared something interesting. Do let me know what more you have done in your effort to be a stylish hot mom.

Yes, skincare is very important, specially so after post-pregnancy. Pregnancy takes a toll on your skin and it shows. Skin becomes dry, hence in Indian culture importance is given to massages. One can use mustard oil, black sesame oil, or coconut oil. People even use cow's milk ghee, but frankly massaging using ghee and mustard oil is not preferable to everybody as they leave a bad odor. Black sesame oil is good and so is coconut oil. Coconut oil has been used as a massage oil since centuries, the reason being that it penetrates deep into the skin leaving it nourished and glowing. After your massage and bath, you can use parachute advansed body lotion that has coconut oil/milk extracts. So it's like a double treat for your skin. I know because that's the routine I followed during my 40 days of confinement.
