Lakme Clean Up Face Scrub Review

By Nids
Brand’s claim: Bid adieu to dead cells and dullness as here comes a scrub formula to give your skin the exfoliation it deserves. Enriched with apricot and strawberry extracts, the Lakmé Clean Up Face Scrub gently unclogs pores and removes dead skin cells to bestow a natural glow on your skin.
Price: 99/- for 50g & 199/- for 100g.

My take on the product:
I had recently picked this face scrub and face mask from the same range as these travel friendly cute looking packages seemed just right for having a quick clean-up at home.
I had already reviewed the face mask from the same range and here is my view on the scrub. I have tried quite a lot of scrubs from many different brands and so this post is basically my comparative view on how this fared in contrast with the rest.

Scrubbing is important for your facial care as it is supposed to work by removing dead skin, leaving behind a layer of younger, healthier skin. Regular use of an exfoliant can keep skin smooth and glowing, by constantly exposing new skin. Use of a face scrub can also remove lingering facial makeup which may not have been totally cleaned earlier.

The lakme clean-up face scrub works fine in that sense. If you have seen the normal apricot scrub then this looks identical to that except for the lovely strong strawberry punch fragrancewhich hits you as soon as you open the cap. The scrub is mild, has small walnut scrub particles that does the work nicely. It has a rather thick consistency so splash water on your face first and then use this scrub in circular motions for 2-3 minutes and then wash off with normal water. You would be left with a clean face that feels soft too.
As I have dry skin so I use this scrub once a week followed with the mask and I like the effect the cleanup has on me. My skin feels cleansed, soft with a mild glow. All in all, a nice product but I do find it costly for the quantity one gets compared to other similar cheaper options.

Pros:
  • A lovely and strong fruity fragrance.
  • Nice travel friendly red tube packaging
  • Mild scrub particles that perform the clean-up well.
  • Helps to remove the dead skin easily and quickly.
  • Easily available
Cons:
  • It may leave the skin dry in cooler weather coz of the texture
  • Costly compared to other scrub variants available.
  • LI had a tiny zit near my nose and even after scrubbing I could find it there. I believed that it should have been cleared with the scrub particles.

Ratings: 4/5
Final Verdict: An ok product for me. I prefer the gel scrubs more for my dry skin as they are moisturizing too. For oily skin, this would be more beneficial. If you like good smelling scrubs than this can be a good option specially while travelling.
