My views on the Kryolan Contour pencil:
Again our very own Preetha sent me this eye pencil along with some other stuff as my Birthday gift few months back. I had used this pencil several times so thought of reviewing it here for you all.
Shade: The eye pencil though appears dark blue, applies as a more teal blue on the eyes. It is a matte blue shade with a hint of green in it. It is a pretty, easy wearable and flattering shade on all.
Texture: The pencil has a matte medium pigmentation. Though it is soft but if you compare it with the bosses of eye pencils around ;), then you would find it a little less smoother. One needs to apply it 3-4 times to get the perfect color on to the lids.
It is waterline safe and water resistant too. But if you rub it hard, then the shade easily smudges and fades. Well, the length of the eye pencil is surely bigger than the normal eye pencils you get it the market (around 50% more). But definitely pigmentation and softness could have been better for this one.
Staying power: It stays on the lids as long as you don’t rub your eyes for it is not smudge proof. Alone, it stays pretty nicely on the lids for 5-6 hours after which it fades evenly. You actually need a nice remover or cleanser to rub it off fully from the lids at the end of the day.
 Pros:

  • Cheap
  • Nice long lengthy pencil.
  • Easy to sharpen. Doesn’t simply break.
  • Pretty matte shade
  • Waterline safe.
  • Water resistant too.
  • Stays on the lids alone for 5 hours with little fading.
Cons:

  • The pencil has medium pigmentation. You need to swipe it 3-4 times to get a nice color on the lids.
  • The color easily fades and smudges if rubbed.
  • It has not the softest of texture.
  • Available only at Kryolan flagship stores.
Ratings: 3.5/5
Final Verdict: Kryolan always makes cost effective and nice products but surely the eye pencils could have been better off in pigmentation and texture. Compared to other brands available this is not one of the best choices you can get but the price and quantity is definitely unbeatable. 😉
