My Views on the Faces new Glam on Lip glosses:
Faces Canada has just launched their Glam On lip glosses in a bright new packaging with some new shades added. I think the prices have been hiked too though their website shows the old price of 499/- as of now. Here’s my review on the 2 new shades launched.
Packaging: You just can’t miss out on the bright and beautiful golden packaging of these glosses. The gloss comes in a transparent square pack with a super glossy golden square cap. Full points scored here by the brand. The gloss comes with a sort of straight and thin foam tip applicator that picks just enough color for a 1 time application.
Shades: ‘Berry Rush’ that looks a bright true shimmery red inside the pack is a muted matte pink-red in real. It can suit most skin tones.
And ‘Ochre Crush’ that appears as a matte golden shade in the pack turns out to be a shimmery nude in swatches. The shade would look good on fair to medium skin tones.
Both the shades are actually deceiving in the way that the moment you swatch them you can see a big difference in what you see inside the pack to what you get to see in real. So better swatch these at stores and make your mind on buying the colors.
Texture & Pigmentation: The glosses seriously lack pigmentation. These are light to medium pigmented and you have to layer these up at least 2-3 times to actually make them visible on the lips. I would say a big no-no to these to people who have pigmented lips. Both the colors would look wonderful on top on other lipsticks but yes, alone I am not that much impressed with the color.
The texture is light and layering up doesn’t make them sticky or heavy. These are moisturizing too. The gloss doesn’t bleed and it fades away evenly.
Staying power: The glosses stay put for 3-4 hours and survives light meals in between. On top of another lipstick, the staying power increases.
Finally summing up the pros & cons of the gloss:
- Decent staying power.
- Light weight in texture
- Doesn’t bleed
- Fades away evenly.
- Beautiful packaging.
- High price
- Shades lack pigmentation
- Colors won’t show up well on pigmented lips.
Final Word:Though the Faces Glam On lip glosses are hydrating, light-weight and provide a good staying power, still I am not a fan on less pigmented lip glosses that too when you have a great choice in other brands at a lesser price. Maybe other shades are nicely pigmented but I am not impressed with these 2 colors that much.
