Colorbar Lash Illusion Mascara Duo-Carbon Black Review & EOTD

Article By Lee

Hello Beauties,
This is my first time writing a review for IBJ and its so exciting.I hope this is a start to a long joyous journey with Pree and IBJ. There is one thing you should know about me.
I love Colorbar, it is my favourite brand and most of the products in my kitty are from Colorbar. It offers good quality products at affordable prices. Well the latter part might not hold true anymore since they keep hiking their prices! Grrr ..

So today Iam going to review one of the most essential parts of eye make up- Mascara. I wanted a mascara that will thicken as well as lengthen my lashes & Colorbar’s Lash Illusion Mascara Duo fit the bill.

Price: Rs 399 for 4ml of lengthening lash
                            4ml of volumizing mascara
Best Before 3 yrs of manufacturing

Product Claims: Available in Black Colorbar Lash Illusion Mascara Duo makes the eyelashes look naturally thick & long with its lash lengthening & lash volumizing formula. It prevents lashes from falling or breaking and is water resistant. The mascara does not flake or clump & is suitable for sensitive eyes & those who wear contact lenses.

Packaging: It comes in a silver packaging which is typical Colorbar packaging. There are 2 barrels & 2 mascara wands. One is the lengthening lash & the other is the volumizer. I find the packaging very attractive & sturdy.

It is by far one of the best mascaras I’ve ever used. It lengthens, volumizes & curles my lashes beautifully. A single coat is enough for a daily minimalist look. For a more defined, dramatic look 2-3 coats does the trick.
It does a clump a bit (after 4-5 months) and stings my very sensitive eyes. The stinging stops after 5-10 seconds but do note I have extremely sensitive eyes so Im sure most of you wouldn’t experience it.
Colorbar claims the mascara is water resistant but I would say it is waterproof, actually even oil proof :D.I use Johnson’s Baby Oil to remove it and I have such a HARD time!! That’s 1 thing I absolutely hate about the product and yes I have lost quite a few precious lashes because of it.

I don’t find much of a difference between the volumizer and the lengthener. The volumizer is just a tad more thicker then the lengthener so what Ive started to do is use it individually rather than a combination of both. This way I get two mascaras at the price of one . Pls don’t snigger at my budget friendly tip.

1) Gives a fuller and defined look the the lashes.
2) Holds true to its claim of lengthening as well volumizing the lashes
3) Highly Pigmented. It is the darkest of darkest black shade.
4) Does not weigh down my lashes & curls them beautifully
5) Waterproof & does not flake
6) An attractive sturdy packaging

1)Requires a lot of effort to remove it even while using a makeup remover/oil
2)Only available in the black shade. Hope they introduce a colorful line like Ingot’s since they’ve already started to ape their prices.
3)Stings extremely sensitive eyes
4)Started to clump after 4-5 months
5) A bit pricey
