Colorbar I-Glide Eye Pencil Prunella Review, Swatch, EOTD

 Article By MakeupLover

Hi everyone,

Today I’m reviewing one of my recent purchases , the Colorbar I-Glide eye pencil in the shade Prunella.

What the website says:

Defines like a pencil and glides like liquid eyeliner. This effortlessly easy to use I-Glide Eye Pencil with its smooth formulation, gives your eyes rich colour in a single stroke and blends in easily after application. Lasts longer than 8 hours; does not feather or bleed.

Ingredients:

Isododecane, cyclopentasiloxane, PEG/PPG-19/19 dimethicone, synthetic wax, hydrogenated polydicyclopentadiene, nylon-12, C20-40 alcohols, perfluorononyl dimethicone, polyglyceryl-4 diisostearate/polyhydroxystearate/sebacate, polyethylene, pentaerytrityl tetra-di-t-butyl hydroxyhdrocinnamate, tocopherol, may contain:CI 77019, CI 77891, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, CI 77510, CI 77007, CI 75470, CI 77000

The liner is priced at INR 399. Colorbar hiked the price just as I was about to buy it. It used to cost INR 350. We get 1.1 gram of the product.

The packaging is a silver pencil with a silver cap and a coloured end which indicates the shade of the pencil.

It comes in a silver box which also has a coloured end where the shade name and number are mentioned. So it would be easy to find in a group of pencils.

The shade is a beautiful shimmery purple. The shimmer is not too noticeable but it adds some sparkle to the eyes. The colour is not very dark and is a true purple.
The liner is extremely creamy. The claim that it ‘glides like liquid eyeliner’ is true.  I actually felt that it was applying liquid liner, it is that soft! It glides very smoothly, gives good pigmentation in a single swipe and is smudge-proof after it sets. It is waterproof as well, unless you rub your eyelids really hard after splashing water. It does not fade and is truly long wearing. It lasts as long as you don’t remove it yourself with an oil-based remover. I haven’t faced any problem while sharpening it either.

Pros:

  1. Pretty colour
  2. Smooth texture
  3. Good pigmentation
  4. Extremely long wear
  5. Does not smudge

Cons:

  1. Quite highly priced for a pencil
  2. Product would get wasted while sharpening. I’ve also heard of the tip breaking, but I kept that in mind and was extra careful, so no issues there.
  3. I somehow feel that the colour does not add definition to my eyes, maybe because it isn’t dark (but I love the colour anyway. I feel it’s quite unique)
I have swatched it once and then thrice in the pictures.
For the EOTD, I used Prunella on my upper lashline and Maybelline Colossal Kajal on the waterline.
My Rating:
I would rate this 4.5 on 5 (points deducted for the price).
Final words:
Get it if you love the colour and don’t mind spending Rs.399 on it. I personally don’t think I would repurchase this unless I see some unique shade that I love. I really like the pencil, but with other products on the market having equal quality and lower price, I’d rather go for them.
