So my first try with Chanel was an official success though I was a bit skeptical as I know it would burn a hole in my pocket. But I was desperately in need of a good foundation as my skin tone has changed because of pregnancy hormones. Chanel Matte Lumiere was in my wish list but the shades were quite confusing. I initially ended up buying a shade horribly dark for me but the MUA was sweet enough to exchange it for me and thank god, I god my right shade 50, Naturel.
50 would be a right match for those who are NC40-41 in MAC. It is not as yellow as MAC foundations, but suits my skin very well and I feel it is a match made in heaven for me.
Price: Rs. 2900
Packaging: Light weight glass bottle with a pump. Quite travel friendly and I prefer keeping it in the box that comes with it.
This foundation is best for oily skin as it mattifies the skin and keeps it oil free for a long time. You would need a powder on top if you want it to stay longer. It is a light weight fluid that spreads easily and stays for more than 8 hours. It gives medium coverage but does not look heavy or give that made up feeling. Looks extremely natural on me.
Unfortunately, in India, only 4-5 shades are available and most of them are pale or pink toned. I am glad I found my match but the next shade 60 Hale was way too dark and has pink tone so if you are able to get your shade, this is a great product. It can be worn on a daily basis and I am glad it never broke me out. Infact, my skin has become more sensitive than before and this is the only foundation I can wear now.
Rating: I would give this 5/5 from my side.
If only more shades according to Indian skin tone were available, this would be a great hit.
I am wearing the foundation in the below picture. I hope you can notice that it easily covers my scars and gives a subtle glow.
Have you tried any Chanel product? Any suggestions for my next purchase?
