When I go to attend a wedding, all I notice is the Bride’s hair and makeup. I know we are not perfectionists but here are 5 things that I mostly notice when it comes to Bridal Makeup.
This is the most common method used by Bridal Makeup artists in India and the bride unfortunately looks like a ghost in the pictures.
2 Eyeshadows, neither of them blended properly.
While it is nothing wrong in using just one shade of eyeshadow on the lids, some so called bridal makeup artists try doing their own mix and match of shades and it ends up in a mess.
3. The same hot pink blush again
Please understand that Indians have different skin tones and not all can carry off cool toned blushes with ease. Earth toned blushes look great on dusky beauties while pinks and peaches are for the fair skinned. Blush overload definitely makes a bride look clowny.
4. Sparkling Beauty
While glitter is good for evening parties, too much glitter can totally spoil the bride’s makeup. Limit glitter only to the eyes and avoid on the face as Indian weddings are pretty long and tiring and the glitter looks bad once the rest of the makeup subsides in few hours.
5. The Reds and Maroons
When it comes to Bridal Makeup in India, all that the brides want to wear on the D-Day is a Red or a Maroon. Frosty finish, shimmery lipsticks are no longer in trend. Try sporting soft shades of pinks and corals instead. If you are a lover of brights, why not a fuschia or an orange?
The best way to avoid this is to go for trial makeup session at least 1 month prior to your wedding and choose the best makeover. It’s your biggest day in life, so no compromises. Take your outfit along with you to the makeup artist and choose the products that would compliment the dress as well as your skintone.
