I had to chuck my Vichy Normaderm range since I was asked to stay away from Salicylic and Glycolic acids. I switched back to my beloved TBS Teatree range that had worked a few years back. I was suffering from a major acne attack and then god showed some mercy and they started reducing slowly. As I entered my second trimester, the acne stopped but the scars refused to fade. I picked up this night lotion that claims to reduce scars.
Price: Rs. 895. One bottle lasts 2 months if used twice daily.
It has the standard Teatree oil smell that is not so overpowering. I love this entire range so I have no issues with the fragrance at all.
The Body Shop claims that it does not contain any harmful ingredients and their products are free from animal testing. Though I cannot digest the sudden hike in prices of their products, the fact that the quality is not compromised keeps me coming back.
This lotion has a very light water based formula that is cooling on the skin and absorbs quite easily. It can even be used as a primer and it keeps skin sweat free for a long time. However, I would suggest this only for those with oily skin as tearee tends to dry out the skin.
Now coming to the question ” Did it help reduce acne scars?”. Yes! It did. But it took time. With regular usage, it helps fade scars slowly as it does not have any harsh chemicals and it is perfect for sensitive skin. It took about 2 months for this lotion to show results but am quite happy it worked. I has severe scars and literally stopped looking at my face in the mirror. This lotion came to my rescue and am quite happy with the results, though it was slow in action.
