Benefit Hoola Bronzer Review
Bronzer is a quick way to warm up skin and give a sun kissed glow. It is also used to define features like jaw line, nose, temples and cheekbones. Contouring contours to creates sharp and defines edges whereas bronzer adds glow to face. For soft and natural looking face the bronzer must be similar in tone to the colour of your chest and arms to give an illusion of same transition between face and rest of the body (According to Bobbi brown tutorials).
Bronzers are often said to be a girl’s best friend (of course after diamonds) 😛
What Company Claims: Dust this award-winning bronzing powder over your chin, cheeks and forehead for a healthy, natural looking “tan” year-round. Complete with soft, natural-bristle cheek brush, it’s pure matte color…no sparkle or shine!

Benefit Hoola Bronzer is cult famous product worldwide for its no shimmer but matte finish. Most of the bronzers available in market are either too orangy or too brown but Hoola Bronzer has perfect blend to create naturally soft look. It has no orange tone in it which is why it has become a favorite bronzer for paler skin tones. It works for every skin tone and blends very nicely however I personally feel for Indian skin tones this won’t be appropriate to use unless you are on paler side i.e. NC20-25. I am NC 37 but this doesn’t show up on my skin well. It matched my undertone completely but refuses to show up on my skin. I tried building up the product but it dint work for me. I prefer slight stronger than this one which actually can show up a little.
It is an ultimate bronzer for paler skin tone, and could even work well for some medium skin tones. I saw few makeup magazines where it’s been used on Jennifer Lopez or Kim Kardashian along with some pre-contouring process. In our real life who does so much unless you are moving out for parties etc.?? However I have used it in many different ways only to find that it gives a soft defined cheek once applied, it has a soft sheen to it which is hardly noticeable. I do have naturally defined cheekbone therefore I don’t need much product to enhance it further. Those who want a soft, seamless and naturally defined cheek and nose, this bronzer works best. But those who want to cut off extra flabs and create definition; this can be a complete disappointment for INDIAN SKINTONES above NC 25-30. I contour my nose sometimes and it does work pretty well. The product is extremely soft and smooth to touch, not chalky at all. It blends easily without any further effort. The staying power is another plus point as it stays almost around 6-7 hours on me after that I get a hard time to even determine traces of it on my face 😛 (if u know what I mean). The pigmentation is light to medium and Medium to buildable depends on the skin tones.
What I like about Benefit Hoola Bronzer:
- The Matte finish with soft sheen to it.
- Has no orange undertone to it.
- Best for paler skin tones.
- Create a soft and defined cheekbone.
- Blends well.
- Pigmentation is light to medium and Medium to buildable depends on Skin tones.
- Nice staying power.
- Compact and travel friendly product.
- Has in-build mirror and brush- Brush is soft and quite dense, but I have never used it.
What I don’t like about Benefit Hoola Bronzer:
- Not that I hate this product but it doesn’t work on my skin tone.
- Not an appropriate product for INDIAN SKINTONE.
- Doesn’t show much on my skin.
- Price is too much. I would rather buy some high end product buy adding some which actually show up on me.
Final Words: It’s better to buy after trying at store and if you don’t have benefit counter near you don’t make a mistake like me instead buy some other brand after trying at store. 2400 INR is not a small amount to spend on a bronzer which you may regret later. Again for paler skin tone girls- IT IS THE BEST BRONZER EVER. <3
